The hotel at a glance

The Rohanou Beach Resort & Ecolodge is located around nine kilometers south of the small Egyptian town of El Quseir, directly on the Red Sea. The transfer time from Marsa Alam Airport is around 50 minutes and from Hurghada Airport around two and a half hours. The resort boasts a beautiful private sandy and coral beach and an excellent house reef, which is perfect for both divers and snorkelers.

The lovingly designed resort in typical local style has a total of 78 rooms and eight suites, which blend harmoniously into the three-hectare estate. The resort offers its guests a lobby with reception, free WiFi in the public areas, a main restaurant with terrace, two à la carte restaurants (fish and seafood on the beach and a restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine), several bars and a souvenir store. There are two swimming pools with sun terraces (including a children's pool) in the well-kept outdoor complex. Sun loungers, parasols and towels are included at the pool and on the beach.

Meals at the Rohanou Beach Resort & Ecolodge are either all-inclusive or half board. All-inclusive includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in buffet style (served in the main restaurant), snacks and local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Egyptian and international dishes are prepared from organic vegetables and freshly caught fish. Freshly squeezed orange juice is served for breakfast and freshly baked bread for lunch. The food is varied and vegetarians will also find a sufficient range of vegetable dishes (lactose-free food on request).

Sports facilities include beach volleyball, table tennis and a fitness room. For a fee: diving center with house reef access, snorkeling equipment, spa with massage treatments and various water sports. Discreet daytime entertainment and occasional evening entertainment provide variety.

Particularly noteworthy is the offshore house reef, which can be reached via a 50-metre jetty. It offers divers and snorkelers access to an intact coral garden with drop-offs up to 45 m deep. The southern areas with canyons and caves are particularly fascinating. The relatively wind-protected house reef is almost always diveable and is ideal for beginners and experienced divers alike. Diving is done with the Ducks Diving Center, which is located directly on the hotel property. The family-run diving center with 30 years of experience stands for professional service, particularly courteous staff and - last but not least - for the safety of diving operations. It will be familiar to many divers with diving experience in the Red Sea. In addition to house reef diving, boat dives with a large diving boat and speedboats, snorkeling excursions and certification courses are also offered.

The duration of the total phase of the solar eclipse on August 02, 2027 at Rohanou Beach Resort & Ecolodge will be 2 minutes & 47 seconds, while the entire event will last just under three hours from the start of the partial solar eclipse. You will have the opportunity to experience the eclipse on the resort property or during a dive. For an extra charge, we also offer you the opportunity to experience the eclipse of the century at our "Eclipse Red Sea Camp" in the deep south near Berenice. This location is very close to the center line where the total phase will be 6 minutes & 20 seconds, only three seconds less than the maximum of the eclipse in the middle of the desert, between the Red Sea and Luxor.

The rooms

The 78 rooms at the Rohanou Beach Resort & Ecolodge are available in different categories. The standard rooms are between 22 m² and 26 m² in size and have a land view or partial sea view, while the superior rooms offer a sea view and are approx. 32 m² in size. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a private bathroom with shower/WC, satellite TV, a room safe, a kettle for making tea or coffee, a direct dial telephone, high-speed Internet (for a fee) and a minibar (snacks and drinks for a fee). Some standard rooms have a balcony, while all superior rooms have a furnished terrace.

The resort also has four family rooms, three rooms for guests with limited mobility and eight 42 m² to 45 m² suites with sea views.

2. Package with snorkeling

Services included in the price: Transfer from the airport in Marsa Alam to the hotel & back*, 7 nights in a standard double room, meals: All-inclusive, non-limit snorkeling on the house reef & 2 full-day trips, eclipse dinner party, water bottle, eclipse T-shirt or eclipse cap, eclipse glasses, individual support from Beluga staff on site, insolvency insurance. You will observe the solar eclipse on the property of your hotel.

Extra services that can be booked

1. Solar eclipse mini liveaboard with one night on board a diving yacht*, incl. transfers to and from the boat, 4 dives or snorkeling, tanks, weights and guide, meals on board: full board, water, tea and coffee. Price per person: from € 599.

*On the day of the solar eclipse, the ship anchors along the central line of totality southeast of Berenice, where you can take a dive during the twilight phase or the total phase of the eclipse. Accommodation on board the boat is in simple cabins or on the sun deck under the sky (sleeping bag not included).

The minimum number of participants for the mini liveaboard is 6.

2. Solar eclipse in our "Eclipse Red Sea Camp" at the center line of totality, not far from Berenice, where the duration of the total phase is 6 minutes & 20 seconds. Including transfer to the camp & back, soft drinks, juices, selected alcoholic drinks, water, coffee, tea, and finger food. Price per person: from € 200.

3. Solar eclipse in our "Eclipse Desert Camp" directly at the spot of the maximum of totality, about 60 kilometers southeast of Luxor, in the middle of the desert. The duration of the total phase there is 6 minutes & 23 seconds, the longest total phase of the solar eclipse on August 2nd, 2027. Including transfer to the camp & back (partly with four-wheel drive vehicles), soft drinks, juices, selected alcoholic drinks, water, coffee, tea, and finger food. Price per person: from € 2.500,-.
